Lynne Spears sets the record straight about her famous family

Lynne Spears went on the Today show to set the record straight about her family. Lynne talks about how she is no stage mom and that Britney was the one that pushed her to let her do show business. Lynne agreed only after a family friend agreed to travel with Britney to her auditions and shows. Unfortunately Lynne could not travel with Britney because she had a teaching job and had another little girl at home, Jamie Lynn. As Britney's fame began to rise the family was excited for Britney and all the opportunities she would get to experience due to her career. At the time of the infamous Rolling Stone magazine cover is when Lynne began to feel like she was losing control.
During her public meltdown, Lynne and her family did as much as they could and felt trapped because they were unable to do anything. At one point during the whole debacle when Britney refused to talk to her parents thanks to Sam Lufti's influence, Lynne told her girlfriends not to be surprised if they saw her climbing the wall at The Summit (private community where Britney lives).

In her interview, Lynne answered questions of callers and said that she believes that Britney's ultimate downfall wasn't because of anything specific but all the things accumulative that happened to her. As far as Jamie Lynn goes, she goes to say that things happen and it just happened to happen to Jamie Lynn.



Later Lynne goes to say that she thought it was just a practical joke when she found out that Jamie Lynn was pregnant because her daughter revealed it to her through a note. The note stated that she was pregnant but that everything was going to be alright. During that emotional evening, Jamie Lynn was very mature and consoled her mother who was crying after realizing it wasn't a joke. As far as Britney's future is concerned, Lynne doesn't see anything but good things happening to Britney now and is so proud of her for being on her way to making such a big comeback.
