Obama photographed in Hawaii by paparazzo

We have all seen the shirtless pictures of Obama enjoying his vacation in Hawaii, what everybody didn't know is that the now famous picture was taken by a smart paparazzo. Although secret service had forbidden regular news media from photographing the president, a crafty paparazzo got the shots by openly taking them from a public beach. The paparazzo wore a Hawaiian shirt and walked on the beach nearby Obama's vacation home, and when he spotted the president with his family, he took his camera with long lens out and openly took the pictures in front of the secret service. Since he was doing it from public property, there was nothing the secret service could do but keep an eye on the guy and make sure he didn't do anything illegal. In the report done by Washingtonpost.com, the owner of the paparazzi agency where the paparazzo sold his pictures said:

"The guy just walked along there (beach). He had a camera in his hand. He wasn't hiding behind the bushes. He took some pictures. Everybody saw him. And then he walked off," Griffin said. "It was as simple as that."

Griffin added that the Secret Service "didn't seem to mind."

"He wasn't hiding behind the trees, he wasn't on a boat and he wasn't doing anything that we are used to doing," Griffin said.

Goes to show you that being a paparazzo is becoming more mainstream and accepted by the public. In fact, more and more paparazzi break "newsworthy stories" than the conventional media. Hopefully the negative stigma that we carry will soon go out the door.
