Demi Moore Divorcing Ashton Kutcher for Real

Where there is smoke, there is a fire! After much speculation over cheating rumors, Demi Moore finally decided to file for divorce from her famous  husband.

Just a few months ago, Ashton Kutcher and his wife went through a media firestorm when Star published a story on Ashton, where they alleged he cheated on Demi Moore during their 6 year anniversary with a young woman.  Star even had the pictures to prove it.

At the time, Ashton denied all rumors and Demi stood by his side.  Even going camping with him following the weeks the magazine came out.

Now it appears that Demi has thought long and hard about the pictorial evidence and came to the conclusion that she could no longer be with a cheating husband and still present a good example for her girls.

Demi tweeted about the divorce-

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

She continued: "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Ashton Kutcher tweeted his own message, saying-

"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

It is a common practice for celebrities to blame the media and the paparazzi when things don't go their way, and this story is not unlike any other.  Ashton Kutcher had lashed out at Star Magazine for publishing the pictures and making up fictional stories.  He went as far as claiming defamation of character. 

This is what he tweeted at the time of the cheating scandal:

"I think Star magazine calling me a "cheater" qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees,"

he continued:

"STAR magazine - you don't get to stand behind "freedom of the press" when you are writing fiction."

We guess Demi didn't agree so much that it was fiction.  After all, Ashton never made good on his promise to file a defamation lawsuit against Star Magazine.

From his response, it seems like Ashton Kutcher was ready to move on.  Not taking any responsibility for his role in the demise of his marriage and being the reason why it "failed"
