Is Hollywood Leaving L.A.?

(Lesley Garcia/PaparazziDiaries.com) Need for Speed and the  next Transformers are now filming in Detroit and not in Hollywood.

(Hollywood, CA)  Los Angeles has long held it's title of the 'Entertainment Capital of the World', but things might drastically change with the way the film industry is migrating out of Los Angeles to cities like Detroit and New York, and even other countries like Canada and Australia.

Los Angeles major, Eric Garcetti, has rung the alarm and has said 'California is in a state of emergency' because he thinks it's about to loose reign as the Entertainment Capital of the World and the revenue that goes with it.

In the last few years, Los Angeles has drastically lost out on major movie projects like the Great Gatsby, that was filmed in Australia, the Star Treks next installment of movies, that is being shipped overseas to England, while major shows, like White Betty, have been shipped over to New York City because of it's incentives.  It's $420 million incentive!

Along with bragging rights, Los Angeles would loose out because the entertainment industry not only brings hundreds of jobs to Angelos, but it also brings major talent who usually provides additional jobs to the area, and keeps Los Angeles in the public eye.

The Los Angeles paparazzi have noticed the change, having to travel more often than not when they have to cover movie sets and also not having as much work in Los Angeles, related to the film industry.

With the over saturation of paparazzi in Los Angeles area, the moving of filming to other states and overseas, the paparazzi industry is suffering also.  Where paparazzi could count on receiving decent pay for a newsworthy story, now they are counting pennies to make ends meet.

It is in the best interest of all Californians to bite the bullet somewhere else and give the tax cuts other states and countries are offering so we can keep Hollywood where Hollywood belongs.
