Mindy McCready does 20/20 interview after allegedly kidnapping son Zander

(Heber Springs, AR) Troubled country singer, Mindy McCready, allegedly committed suicide just over a month after her life partner and father of her youngest son, David Wilson, was found dead due to an apparent self-inflected gunshot wound at their home in Heber Springs, Arkansas on January 13.

The "Guys Do It All the Time" singer, had a difficult life - she had been physically and mentally abused by Zander's dad, Billy McNight, she had survived two previous suicide attempts, and had survived going to jail.

During her stint in jail, Mindy McCready, gave temporary custody to her mother, Melody Gayle, who than refused to give Mindy her son back after she was released from prison.

This was the beginning of McCready's legal battle for her son, Zander, who she later allegedly kindnapped and took to Arkansas without her mothers permission, which later led McCready and her son to be ambushed by a swat team in her living room in her home in Herber Springs.

Mindy McCready had a drug and alcohol problem, that she denied, declaring to news program "20/20" in a revealing interview in 2011 after she was accused of kidnapping her son - "I am not a kidnapper, I am not an unfit mother, I am not a drug addict, I am not an alcoholic, I am none of these things that have been said about me!"

Mindy McCready defended herself and threw abuse allegations her mothers way, painfully revealing, "I grew up where I suffered everyday, where I suffered every night where the mental and physical abuse never ended".

When talking about her son Zander McCready said - "Zander saved my life.  I just couldn't imagine loving something so much, that instead of wanting to just lay down and die, I wanted to stand up and fight!"

"I had just lived in spite of what I really felt like doing, which was giving up. I lived for Zander. I live for him still!"

In the same interview she revealed that her mother was abusing her son, Zander, which her grandmother backed up alleging that she was scared permanent physical marks would be left on Zander after being punished with a wooden spoon.

Mindy later regained custody of her son, Zander, and gave birth to her second son, Zayne, and finally had a happy family life with the love of her life, David Wilson.

Her world was turned upside down again when her best friend and life partner, David Wilson, was found dead in their home in Heber Springs due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

Due to the stress of losing her partner, Mindy McCready admitted she had been drinking too much to a judge at a custody hearing and was forced to go into a rehab facility and once again lost custody of her son Zander and also her son Zayne.

Mindy McCready was released from rehab after just two days and was found to be free of drugs and anything else illegal and was thought not to be an 'alcoholic' and 'stable enough' to be released from the in-patient facility she checked herself into.

She was found dead at her home in Heber Springs sunday due to an apparent suicide by self-inflicted gunshot.  She was just 37 years old.
